Beginning with Version 3.4.5, the Equipment Manager software now has a catalog feature that allows for importation of vendor equipment files with descriptions and barcode data. This feature creates a reference catalog file that is generated by the Equipment Manager program to facilitate entering and receiving the vendor’s equipment with a single scan plus quantity entry. This feature reduces the amount of time necessary to receive inventory into the program database. The vendors supplied descriptions can be configured by the importation process to fill fields into the Equipment Manager program records such as Item ID (Barcode), Manufacturer, Model, Style, Size, Color and Cost regardless of the vendors nomenclature and record structure in their own file. The manufacturer supplied files can be in a number of formats including Excel format and can be readily imported electronically. All manufacturers’ equipment files can be requested that contain barcodes and pertinent information that appear to be exclusively supplied to the equipment room as well as retail equipment and merchandise. Some customers have already experienced the time savings and efficiency this feature brings to the popular Equipment Manager system.
